A BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE HISTORY OF LIGHTHOUSE MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL

Lighthouse Ministries International (LHMI) was birthed on the 16th of March 2008 as a nondenominational independent church; and through Gods divine sanction, our church was incorporated in the State of Maryland and owns non-profit status.

The very early stages of our worship services were held in Bowie, at one of our church family's home. As the weekly Sunday Morning Worship Service attendance continued to increase, we had to find alternate accommodation. By the 6th of April 2008, our Church moved into an elementary school, within the City of Adelphi, a more central location for our members. During these very early stages of our transition, we were blessed by an interim preacher, who was released by our Pastor to deliver the Word of God, while he transitioned to LHMI.

We have experienced the rich grace and favor of God upon our church and its members, so much so that our church has three major services a weekly Evangelical Worship Service, Bible Study & Prayer, and Auxiliary Ministries Services. Our church started with forty-seven (47) persons meeting for Sunday Worship Service; and now we have an average attendance between one hundred and sixty (160) and two hundred and fifty (250) persons attending weekly Sunday Morning Worship Services.

During the period of transition the vision, mission, doctrinal statements, constitution, and the Articles of Incorporation were researched, composed, submitted, and approved, with input from our Pastor, members and friends of Lighthouse Ministries International. This enabled our church to function legally in the State of Maryland and in the United States of America. After a period of transition and waiting before the Lord, on the 2nd of July, 2008 our Pastor joined us for Bible Study; and on the 6th of July, 2008, our church rejoiced and celebrated as our entire Pastoral Family attended their first Sunday Worship Service at Lighthouse Ministries International.

We continue to lift up the Name of Jesus, for it was and is by His grace and favor we shine our lights brightly for all to see our good works and glorify our Father in Heaven. Lighthouse Ministries International has a belief system that is founded on the principles and precepts of the Holy Bible our manual and we will continue to follow its instructions in Matthew 5:14.
